his week’s #castified winner is Sarah Hamilton! Following her appearance on Seal Team’s episode 2×14, she uploaded a picture of herself (on national TV!) to social media, earning her some Castifi Swag and a few other goodies!

At 21, Sarah already has a lot under her belt and a clear vision of what she wants for her career. She may have appeared blurry in the background on Seal Team, but today we’re putting her right in front of you!

Where are you from?

While growing up in Webster, New York, I had always dreamed of being in LA. During high school, my family and I took a trip to California, where I found that LA felt like a second home to me. Especially while touring the Warner Bros. backlots, there was this sense that this was truly where I was meant to be.

The following year, I applied into several colleges and eventually had to choose between being more local and eventually making it to LA, or just making the leap right away. While it was the most emotional and difficult decision to make to leave an entire realm I knew and loved for the unknown, it was also the best decision. I moved out in August 2015 to start college at Loyola Marymount University as a film and television production major, in which I am graduating from this upcoming May!

Living in LA these past four years has been incredible and already made so many dreams come true. Over these past four years, I have been able to create multiple short films, kickstart my career, and even start up the original web series, L.A. Mermaids!

What made you sign up for Castifi?

I heard about Castifi from other actor friends and decided to try it out! It is sincerely one of my favorite apps for acting. Being cast as background on many different professional shows and working on major sets has been absolutely insightful and a lot of fun! Every set is different and brings about a new plethora of inspiration. Plus, I have made a lot of great friends and memories from working on different shows!

Tell me about the experience of the gig you did with Castifi.

I have been a part of a few different film and television productions through Castifi, especially this past summer. Most recently, I got onto an episode of Seal Team on CBS, which was such an amazing experience! It was an early call at CBS studios and after hair, makeup, and costume check (and breakfast!) we got transported to the location. Even in the rain, spirits were high and we all had fun setting an east coast scene just around Hollywood. After the scene was wrapped, we were transported back to the studio and ate lunch while chatting about the acting life. It was a shorter day that could have kept on going!

Tell me more about the shoot you finished with Seal Team

Seal Team is such an immersive show so to be a part of it was absolutely incredible. The cast and crew on set that day were very efficient and inspiring to be around. In comparison to film, television is also so much more fast-paced, so it was really nice to see that difference and learn more about the process first hand. The episode aired only a few months later and looked incredible. One of my favorite things about acting is enjoying the creative process and then watching it come to life.

What are you most excited about for the series?

I am really excited to see how the story develops and the character arcs progress! Being a part of this show is truly such an honor and it has been exciting to experience the television process from this point of view.

What advice would you give to aspiring models and actors?

My best advice to aspiring models, actors, and storytellers of all forms is to keep on dreaming, stay optimistic, and actively pursue those goals on a regular basis! Opening as many doors as possible, seeking out opportunities, and enjoying the process along the way is what it’s all about. Take initiative of your career and believe in it more than anything else. Anything is possible and dreams really do come true!
